Shiny Blue You is published by Queen of Wands Press. Editors Jen Lemen and Sage Cohen are passionate about sharing life-affirming stories that connect us with joy and compassion to ourselves, our communities and our world.
Jen Lemen lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with her partner Dave and two wild children, Madeleine and Carter. All day long neighbors young and old climb through the Magic Door of her friendly old house bearing mugs of freshly brewed coffee, buttercup bouquets or savory feasts from faraway lands. When Jen's not crafting essays or giving good advice about social media, you can find her two floors up in The Tower where she writes and illustrates zines from scratch. Jen's essays have appeared in Good Housekeeping, The Huffington Post and Imagining Ourselves, an online exhibit hosted by the International Museum of Women in San Francisco. She is the author of Beginnings and writes regularly about Art and Design for Blogher.com. For more art, soul and stories, visit jenlemen.com.
Sage Cohen lives in Portland, Oregon with her partner Jon, two dogs, two cats and baby-to-be. She is the author of Writing the Life Poetic, forthcoming from Writer’s Digest Books, and the poetry collection Like the Heart, the World. Sage’s poetry and essays appear in journals and anthologies including Cup of Comfort for Writers, Oregon Literary Review, Greater Good and VoiceCatcher. In 2006, she won first prize in the Ghost Road Press annual poetry contest. Sage holds an MA in creative writing from New York University where she was awarded a New York Times Foundation fellowship. Sage founded Queen of Wands Press in 2007. She teaches Poetry for the People and Personal Essays That Get Published. Visit her at www.sagesaidso.com.
