Once upon a time, Jen Lemen wrote a blog post titled Missing: One Blissful, Shiny-Blue Girl Bike. I read this post and was smitten with the woman whose story of a stolen bike rose from the ashes to transform loss into rejoicing for the things we love and the shiny-blue happiness they represent. A year later, I dreamt that Jen and I co-created a book titled Shiny Blue You: Stories to Change Our World. When I called Jen to share the prophecy, this project was ignited.

When poet Sage Cohen called to share her idea for a collaborative book project, I knew right away that I had to obey the tugging in my heart. To say yes to Sage meant adventure, delight and the opportunity to weave together an amazing circle of women writers who could inspire the world to action. How else to bring hope, courage and healing than to tell all the ways a shift in perspective can make this world a magical place to be? Grateful for Sage's keen intuition and gentle insight, I threw open the door of my story-telling heart, certain that a host of kind and fearless souls would do the same.

All Sage and Jen need now is shiny blue you. We want to hear your true stories of grace, courage and transformation that introduce new possibilities for how we interpret our lives and inhabit our world. And we want to share them! 50 finely crafted essays will appear in a Queen of Wands Press book in the fall of 2008!
